Poor Hiding

Definition:

Failure of dried paint to obscure or over cover the surface to which it is applied.

 
Cause:
  • Over thinning the paint or spreading it too thin
  • Use of low quality tools or wrong roller cover
  • Use of low quality paint

Prevention
  • Dilute paint with correct ratio specified on Technical Data Sheet
  • Use the correct thinner to thin paint.
  • Choose the correct roller and brush.
Remedy
  • Apply another coat of paint at the recommended film thickness.
  • Use quality tools and a roller cover with the correct nap if rolling.
